Visita Iglesia as describe by Wikipedia as pious Roman Catholic Lenten tradition by attempting to visit seven churches or religious sites. Traditionally observed on Maundy Thursday, it is commonly practised during any day of the Holy Week.

Various associations have been made during Lent with regards to the significance of number seven, including:

We visited 14 churches, 1 for each station of the cross, since we were on bikes. Others just visit 7 churches and they usually just walk. There were almost 50 bikers in attendance. The ride started early in the morning and ended at around 12 noon.

First stop, The Shrine of Jesus in Pasay. This was the meet up point.

Then off to the next church.

The Baclaran Church also known as The Shrine of the Mother of Perpetual Help.

Next was the Malate Church also known as the Our Lady of Remedies Parish Church.

On the way to the Sta. Ana church.

Also know as the Church of Our Lady of the Abandoned, Sta. Ana church was the 3rd church on our ride. Like many of the old churches, this one is being renovated.

Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus. People come here to ask for intercession for their wishes.

National Shrine of St. Michael and the Archangels is just a few blocks away from St. Jude. Both churches are inside the compound of the Malacañang Palace, the residence of the Philippine president.

Next was San Beda Church, also known as the Abbey of the Lady of Montserrat. It’s located outside the Malacañang compound beside San Beda College.

San Sebastian Church, also known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It is the only all steel church in Asia.

The University of Sto. Tomas Church or the Santisima Rosario Church is located inside the university grounds.

Quiapo Church, also known as the Basilica of the Black Nazarene.

Sta. Cruz church or the Shrine of Our Lady of Pillars, is a few blocks away from Quiapo Church. I miss the old look of the church. This one was recently renovated and I feel that it lost its old beauty.

Binondo Church, also know as the Minor Basilica of San Lorenzo Ruiz and the Parish of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.

The newly renovated Manila Cathedral. I was excited to go here and see the renovations to this iconic church. It is also known as the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

The last church on our ride was the San Agustin church which was also within Intramuros. It was declared a world heritage site and one of the most booked churches for weddings.

We spent around five minutes at each of the churches for personal prayers.
There were other bike groups that had their own rides to different churches.
