I accidentally forgot to remove my bike pump holder when I sold my first folding bike. And since then, I had to use zip ties to secure my pump. It took too much time installing and removing and wasn’t very practical. One day I saw my flashlight holder and noticed that it can hold different sized flashlights and thought that maybe it can hold my pump too. Yes it can. Here it is without the pump. I placed it it the handlebar stem for quick access.
And here it is with the pump attached. It also gives me peace of mind that I can see the pump is still there.
Hi. We have the same mini pump. Giyo GP-41. I would like to know if that flashlight holder you’re using is a type of clamp specifically made for bicycle use.
Hi, Yes this is a standard type of flashlight holder for bikes. You can find them in most bike shops or those stalls in malls selling flashlights in malls. It’s around 60 pesos, last I checked. 🙂
I just finished going through your blog. Lots of useful info. 🙂 I also ride a cheap folding bike (the infamous Aleoca). While I drool over nice, shiny bike accessories as humans tend to when tempted, I always opt to shoot for the cheaper alternatives, partly because I can work it and partly because I’m not rich. lol. I’m from the province where the roads present a different set of nasty challenges (the occasional lubak and those ever-growing tricycles). I also have a trust issue with my bike mechanic (myself :)), but I managed to upgrade my drivetrain just by reading Sheldon Brown’s website. That may seem to have trailed off-topic, but the point is this: I like your blog’s attitude. Being cheap and somewhat clueless never stopped me from riding and learning about the velo culture. So cheers to us who refuse to be defeated.
Thank you so much! Your feedback really means a lot to me. I love biking and like you, I don’t want to break the bank just to enjoy it. There are a lot of alternatives to expensive accessories. We just have to be creative. 🙂 I haven’t been able to blog lately because we have a new baby. Will blog ASAP!
